THE FINISHING PIG, AND THE FARMER

The hog
Bred for its meat, awfully overfed
To the farmers disgust
He could not get over the wasted food
The wasted energy, for a trashy pig
Who will walk to the slaughter-house
To the farmer, the pig was useless
A chunk that ends up in the mouth
He never took time to keep the hog tidy
After all it was dirty, unpleasant sight
Even for the buyer,
Fed with chemicals, so the buyer will be pleased with the weight
It was a finishing pig, weight mattered only
Meaty, fatty, fit for the mouth
A delicacy ignored

In his disgust, he forgot to see the pink
Delicate skin
Mothering against odds
Digging through trash to feed
The overworked snout
The overly loyal follower and feeder
The little input, he put into their growth
The hog never needed the farmer
The finishing pig
And the ungrateful farmer
THE END

And one day,the pig will be gone and no matter how the farmer felt about it, he's gonna miss it. He may act disgusted by its sight but deep down, even he, knows its the only thing that keeps him going. One day!
