I am whatever to take me

Spin it

Bend it

To your liking

Call me cold

Or insensitive

But I wont give warmth

or be drained

I am selective on who sees which side of me

I radiate and roar

I keep my chin up

And sail away in freedom

Freedom from your lies

I am whatever you take me

Friday Party Time

We are all Kenyans, so we know the Friday tags. #Party time ~#Wakuu mnanitaka wapi? #Mtu wako anakupeleka wapi? It is a whole thing. I enjoy this part, because I get to read all about it and come Friday evening. I grab a blanket and headphones and sink into a movie marathon. Dont get me wrong I love my life and I looove fridays.

However, this one was different for me. I slept early. With my headphones on. Good thing, we have technology. At some point, the computer pauses itself. This saved my ears. But my neighbours had a different idea of silence. Please, do not think my neighbours are ordinary people. By ordinary, I mean a boring someone, who closes doors and watches movies from 0500hours. Now, my not-ordinary nieghbours were 'celebrating' or whatever it is that people call it. What do you call, a daylong drinking spree with insults here and there and where you dont get to speak of anything except alcohol, women and other weird stuff. I find drunkards very sloppy(no offence). Back to the story, my neighbours celebrate. Three men and three women. Again, in what world does a man bring his woman to the drinking den? Anyway, my neighbours get into an argument, and they are now yelling in the middle of the night. I swear it was 0048hours. And then, this woke me up.

I stood by the balcony and the cold was kind. I watched. The men were shouting, why did you make a fist? The women were, Hebu muwache? I am going to describe my neighbour, He is tall, and huge and with dropping lips. You know the kind of lips, which would mispronounce words. Oh, my neighbour is a policeman. He threatened everyone. To pick them up and lock them up. At this point, the noise is going down. People are afraid of getting locked up. I realized that, we know very little about the law. This is a person, having a civilian fight, not implementing any law or responding to any emergency. In any case, he was breaking the law with his friends and now, he is using the law to threaten them to submission.

I watched and wondered. Why would such a man exist? My mind had to take me back. I imagined how life might have been for my neighbour? probably, he had to deal with people making fun of his body and mouth. He endured it. Lucky for him, the government gave him some power, and the only way to survive is to be the bully. He has to bully his way out of arguments. I fear, that one day, my neighbour will do something bad.

Thats how a perfect party was ruined.

Moments in Life.

There are moments in life, when all we want is tenderness. Someone to just hold you, in a quiet embrace.

Someone whose heartbeat tells you that, everything will be okay. Tight and safe.

There are moments, where you dont even trust yourself, to be alone. Because your mind wanders, to difficult moments. Moments of hurt that, you are afraid to be alone with the pain. Even for the worst of us, May the universe grant us people who offer tenderness. Everyone deserves tenderness once a while.
